Campus Networking Upgrade for a Liberian University
The Challenge
The university needed a more reliable and structured campus network to support administration, teaching, and student access. Existing connections were limited, unorganized, and difficult to manage across multiple buildings and departments.
Our Approach
Legacy Brain Professional Academy conducted an on‑site assessment to understand:
- Physical building layouts and distances between locations.
- Existing cabling, equipment, and power conditions.
- Current and future demand for internet and internal services.
We then translated these findings into a practical network design that could be implemented gradually within the institution’s budget and technical capacity.
The Solution
The upgraded campus network design and implementation included:
- Structured cabling linking core administrative and academic buildings.
- Switches and routers configured with VLANs to separate administrative, academic, and student traffic.
- Secure Wi‑Fi zones in key teaching and administrative areas.
- Basic monitoring and documentation to support daily management and future expansion.
The Impact
After the upgrade, the university experienced more stable internet access across its main buildings, improved access to online learning resources, and a clearer structure for managing devices and user accounts.
The project also strengthened the internal IT team’s ability to maintain and expand the network, reducing downtime and reliance on external support for routine changes.
