Youth & Community Digital Media Skills Program

Youth & Community Development Monrovia, Liberia

The Challenge

Many young people and community workers wanted to create digital content for education, awareness, and small businesses, but lacked structured training in graphics, storytelling, and simple video production.

Our Approach

Legacy Brain designed a practical digital media program focused on:

  • Simple, low‑cost tools that participants could continue using after training.
  • Stories and topics drawn from local community needs and campaigns.
  • Step‑by‑step practice rather than theory alone.

Sessions were organized in small groups to allow for individual feedback and support, with examples taken from participants’ real projects.

The Solution

The program covered:

  • Basic design principles: color, layout, and typography.
  • Creating flyers, posters, and simple social media graphics.
  • Introduction to short video clips: planning, recording, and basic editing.
  • Guidelines on using digital media responsibly and representing communities with respect.

The Impact

Participants completed the program with portfolios of real content they could use immediately—such as awareness materials, promotion for small businesses, and youth‑led campaigns.

Several graduates went on to support NGOs, local businesses, or their own initiatives with ongoing digital media work, turning new skills into income and social impact.
